classic extended family portraits | johns creek family photographer

This is an extended family session for the books. You may recognize some familiar faces as I've photographed my friend Amanda's family and extended family many times. Our session this morning was for her husband's family. We have been talking a while about getting together for portrait and, as you can imagine, it is SO hard to coordinate schedules for this many people! We ended up finding a morning that would work for all of us and met at a park with shade so the sun wouldn't be too harsh. As you can see, these images are classic and some that I hope they will cherish for a lifetime! Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!<3

I have to say that this is probably the coolest sessions, scenery-wise that I've done to date! It had been raining all day and we were worried that we'd have to reschedule, which is super difficult with extended family sessions since each family has its own busy schedule. Thankfully, the rain went away JUST in time!

We met at Buford Dam, which my friend and former co-worker, Angie, had picked for their session. It was beautiful when we toured it a few weeks before the session but we couldn't have planned it on a day with this fog coming off the river if we tried! We also hopped across the street and did a few shots at Lake Lanier.

Thank you so much, Smith family, for allowing me to capture your family this year and preserve memories with you!
